Welcome to the Central Church of Christ We hope you feel at home here. Central Church of Christ is a non-denominational church where we worship in truth and spirit (John 4:24). The church family here is a community of people with a variety of individual experiences and talents. We come together because God has forgiven our sins and is changing us into something new. As the Body of Christ, we experience Jesus' love and grace. He fills us with His healing Spirit and calls us to take up our cross and follow Him. Central is a safe place where you also can experience love, acceptance, and forgiveness from sin. If you are searching for a church home, we'd like you to know that there's a special place here just for you!

Why is the resurrection important? Paul states "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Cor 15:3-4 And when they entered the tomb they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; and the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them "why do you seek the living with the dead? He is not here, He has risen! Luke 24:10 The tomb was empty, our Savior is alive! Our hope rests in the resurrection of Jesus, we know that death is not the end and that we too will be raised from the dead to live forever in the presence of God. Hallelujah!!

Why is the burial of Jesus important? When Jesus died on the cross his followers were heartbroken, they thought this was the end. In their minds Jesus body would be interred like everyone else, so they placed Him in a tomb. They expected no resurrection. Joseph placed the body of Jesus in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance as he left. Matt 27:60 To the authorities they feared theft of the body, so they sealed the tomb. "Pilate replied, "Take guards and secure the tomb as best you can." So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it. Matt 27:65-66 God had other plans!
This Sunday is Resurrection Sunday! Join us at Central as we celebrate a risen Savior.
What's so good about Good Friday? Good Friday calls to remembrance that Jesus became our sacrifice, suffering and dying on the cross; putting our sin to death. Describing the importance of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, Paul would write, " For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures," 1 Cor 15:3
A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven! Matt 21:8-9
Jesus reminds us what true loyalty to Him means in a world that's hostile toward Him. "The world would love you if you belonged to it, but you dont. I chose to you to come out of the world so it hates you." John 15:19 (NLT)
You can't go back and make a new beginning, so stop being held back by the past, move forward. "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed!" John 8:36
Matt 8:26 Jesus asks his disciples "Why are you afraid?" What if faith was our default reaction instead of fear? With Jesus, it's possible!
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. John 1:1-4
"For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20b-21
